The Census Bureau is seeking bright, innovative, results-oriented individuals to join our Pathways- Internship Program.  The Pathways Internship Program targets students accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program (diploma, certificate, etc.) in an accredited/qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis. (Applicants who do not meet the definition of “student,” will not be considered). Internships can be seasonal (spring, summer, fall) or year round.  At the successful conclusion of this program, you may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to a Federal career or career-conditional position. Interns may work full-time or part-time schedules.

Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position.

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 – must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA throughout the entire internship appointment.

 

Some internships may be available within our 6 Regional Offices and the National Processing Center – Jeffersonville, Indiana.

 

More than one selection may be made from this announcement should the need arise.

Pathways candidates must meet the qualification requirements consistent with the US Census Bureau and the OPM qualification standards applicable to the position being filled. The classification of the intern positions (series and grade) will depend upon the field of study and level of coursework the candidate has completed.

  • Candidate must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0- must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA throughout the entire internship appointment.
  • 18 years of age or older at the time of appointment
  • Degree does not have to be related to the position/series; however to be eligible, candidate must meet the OPM qualification standards for the position to which the Intern may be converted.
