Students invited to Association of Professional Archaeologists of Kansas (PAK) Friday afternoon

The annual meeting of the Association of Professional Archaeologists of Kansas (PAK) is this Friday afternoon (Feb 21) 1:00-4:00 pm at Fort Riley. This meeting is a time to share in informal discussions about issues outside of formal research that are of concern for professional archaeologists, especially in Kansas. This includes issues about site protection, archaeological education, and much more. At this particular meeting we have a rare opportunity to meet with Chaz Evans of The Archaeological Conservancy about protecting significant sites in Kansas through purchase by this non-profit organization. This is a great way to learn about this very important organization in the US.

Students considering a career in archaeology are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting in order to experience first-hand discussions related to everyday concerns of the archaeological profession. For further information, feel free to contact Lauren Ritterbush (lritterb@ksu.edu), Brad Logan (blogan@ksu.edu), or other members of PAK.

Directions to the meeting place at Fort Riley (Pershing 407) are included below.
